What is Grounding and What Does it Mean to ‘Be Grounded’?
Grounding and being grounded is a term in aromatherapy used to mean connecting with the present, being in the now and physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally and energetically rooted.
Grounding can be better understood when you think of a tree, with roots that go deep within the earth complexly connected to water supply networks and nutrients that help it grow strong and tall. The tree also sways, reaches for light and changes with the season, which emphasizes that being grounded doesn’t mean rigidity, being stone – hearted and fixed to one spot without changing. The tree stands firmly rooted to the ground but accomplishes all the tasks it’s meant to do.
In today’s world, with so many problems and health issues people are facing, it’s safe to say that many are ungrounded or only partially grounded. This is characterized by being spaced out most of the time, stuck in the past, having scattered thoughts, being disorganized, inability to take firm decisions, hesitating a lot, getting easily influenced by people, objects and events around, and so much more.
Being grounded means you follow your life’s purpose and stay focused and strong, ready to take on the world.
