DIY Essential Oil Bee Repellent to Safely Get Rid of Bees

January 8, 2017 By Aspen 2 Comments

Want to get rid of bees without cruelly killing them off? Try this essential oil bee repellent! It just contains distilled water and two essential oils that have been shown to deter bees!

In my kitchen, I always have fat bumble bees flying in through the windows and buzzing around over the sink and food items. It hasn’t been much of a disturbance…until a bee tried to sting my mother. That’s when things really started getting out of hand.

One might wonder, what are bees attracted to in the kitchen? Well, many things actually: there’s honey, citrus fruits, sweet tea and basically any sweet and sugary stuff.

What can you do about that? There’s no way you can stop buying citrus fruits or not make yourself tea just because of bees. Fortunately, there is a solution to this frustrating ‘beesness’ and that’s making your own essential oil bee repellent!

Below is a list of essential oils that deter bees:

  1. Peppermint (where to get it)
  2. Eucalyptus (where to get it)
