Are your muscles feeling sore and painful? Maybe you did an intense workout the other day, a hike up the hill or some kind of strenuous activity. Whatever the case, you can ease your pain and get your body back to normal using this DIY essential oil blend for sore muscles!
Before we go to the recipe, here are some of the essential oils for sore muscles:
- Peppermint oil (where to get it) – Peppermint oil contains menthol, an active ingredient that numbs pain and gives a cooling sensation on the area it’s applied.
- Eucalyptus oil (where to get it) – Just like peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil provides a nice cooling relief to sore and painful muscles.
- Thyme oil (where to get it) – Unlike the above two essential oils, thyme oil is warming. It soothes and relaxes the muscles. Thyme oil also encourages blood flow to the area, which promotes quick healing.
- Lavender oil (where to get it) – This multipurpose oil is soothing in nature. It also has anti-inflammatory properties. It’s a great addition to this DIY essential oil blend.
- Ginger oil (where to get it) – Ginger oil is a powerful anti-inflammatory. It’s one of the best essential oils for pain relief. It’s a very ‘hot’ oil so be sure to use it sparingly.
- Turmeric oil (where to get it) – Same as ginger oil, turmeric oil contains strong anti-inflammatory properties.
- Rosemary oil (where to get it) – This refreshing herbal oil is another essential oil good for relieving pain naturally.
