Mildew thrives in damp places around the house. The most common places are under the bathroom or kitchen sink. It looks unsightly, smells gross and can give you allergies! In this post, I share a very simple DIY essential oil mildew remover. It uses just 4 ingredients.

Essential oils fight mildew and mold with their powerful antiseptic, antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti-fungal properties. Among the best essential oils for mold and mildew include:

  • Lemon
  • Lavender
  • Tea tree
  • Rosemary
  • Oregano
  • Peppermint
  • And more

DIY Essential Oil Mildew Remover

Here are the ingredients we shall be using:

Vodka – This ingredient is the main anti-mildew substance here. It fights mold and mildew and removes them off completely.

Distilled water – It acts as the base ingredient to combine all the rest of the ingredients together. It also diluted the vodka. Only use distilled water. Tap water and purified waters will not work. Distilled water lengthens the shelf life of the mildew remover and prevents germs from harboring in it.

Lemon oil – Lemon oil is the most popular green cleaning essential oils. It cleans and freshens surfaces. Lemon is also antibacterial and fights off germs. It’s very potent to remove mildew and mold.

Lavender oil – Antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-fungal, lavender oil is good for fighting mildew. It also has cleansing action and leaves a fresh floral scent when used.
