Ingredients Needed for a Face Mask
To make the ideal skin saving face mask, you need three major ingredients: a base ingredient for mixing up the rest of the ingredients into a paste, an exfoliant or solid substance that acts as an exfoliator or absorbent and finally, an extra skin healing ingredient. To give you an idea of what you can use for each of the three ingredients, read below:
Base ingredients – The base ingredient for this DIY face mask will of course be a hydrosol. Pick any of your choice. See the next section for which hydrosol to choose for your skin type.
Exfoliant – This is the ingredient that is there to cleanse skin and soak up excess grime and dirt from deep within the pores. It also exfoliates dead cells and softens skin. Some examples include: colloidal oatmeal, kaolin clay, baking soda, bentonite clay, activated charcoal and ground almonds.
Skin healing ingredient – Here, add in any healing and nourishing ingredient. Choose from raw honey, apple cider vinegar and aloe vera gel.

- Rinse off using warm water until all of the face mask is off.
- Splash your face with cold water.
- Pat dry with a soft towel and apply moisturizer.
