DIY Rose Essential Oil Perfume
I was lucky enough to grow up in a country house surrounded by many gardens. My mother was a gardening enthusiast blessed with a green thumb. While she grew different types of flowering plants and edible plants, her favorites have always been roses. Our garden was always blooming with not one, but many types of roses including tea roses, English rose and shrub roses. I’m not bragging, I’m only recalling those sepia-toned memories with great nostalgia. Today, I’m an adult stuck in concrete jungle of a city with barely an inch of soil to grow my own plants!
Luckily all hope is not lost, as I have precious, beautiful and powerful essential oils! Rose essential oil is pricey, but it is one of the most pure, heavenly and most luxurious scents you can ever come across! Rose is one of my most favorite scents and my most beloved possession in my tiny city apartment is my bottle of rose essential oil.

How to Make Rose Essential Oil Perfume
You only need a few ingredients to make this rose essential oil perfume. You can store this for up to 2 years in a cool, dark place. Here’s the recipe:
What you need:
- ½ cup rubbing alcohol (where to get it)
- 30 drops of rose otto essential oil (where to get it)
- 20 drops of sandalwood oil (where to get it)
- 15 drops of bergamot oil (where to get it)
- 4 oz amber glass spray bottle (where to get it)
Directions:
- In a tinted glass spray bottle, carefully drop in all the above mentioned essential oils. Mix them with a glass rod or tooth pick and allow them to rest for 3 – 5 days. This process is called ‘melding’, and it helps the scents to synergize.
- Now add in the alcohol, and shake vigorously. This will emulsify the essential oil droplets and create a perfect liquid.
- Your perfume is not ready yet! You need to allow this to rest for 1 – 2 months in a cool, dark place. This will help the smell of alcohol to fade out, while enabling the scents of the essential oils to mature.
- Finally, after at least 1 month, your rose essential oil perfume is now ready for use!
