Making homemade essential oil shaving cream is SO EASY! Try it now with the recipe below!

Homemade Essential Oil Shaving Cream

I’ve been using coconut oil for shaving for such a long time I really don’t have any problems with it. It just works so well – no razor burn, no ingrown hairs and just smooth nice skin. I also use it as an aftershave. But shaving can get drab and just plain ugh. So to spice things up, making a homemade essential oil shaving cream is what you need to do! It’s a fun project plus the essential oils smell so fabulous and it feels good lathering nice smelling ALL NATURAL shaving cream on your skin!

What else does homemade essential oil shaving cream do? It prevents razor burn, makes your skin smooth & silky, prevents ingrown hairs and gives a nice close shave. Who needs shaving soap when you have this incredibly homemade essential oil shaving cream?

The only downside some people may find is that it can clog up your shaving razor. But seriously, this is nothing for me! A quick soak of hot water and liquid detergent takes care of this in a jiffy! After shaving, soak your razor in a Pyrex cup filled half way with hot water and a squirt or two of liquid detergent or dish soap. After 2-3 minutes, rinse the razor and it’ll be clean and sparkly!

How to Make Homemade Essential Oil Shaving Cream

The essential oil blend below is a nice scent for women. If you’re a man, you can use 7 drops of bergamot and 7 drops of cedarwood oil. Instead of using a blend, you can just use one essential oil like lavender oil.

*If you want it to lather a little, add 1 tbsp of liquid castile soap to your recipe but honestly, it doesn’t need to foam. You can shave well with this shaving cream.

What you’ll need:

  • ¼ cup shea butter
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp jojoba oil
  • 7 drops tea tree oil
  • 7 drops lavender oil
  • 7 drops geranium oil
  • Double boiler
  • Hand mixer
  • Clean container for storage

  4. Whip the mixture for about 5 minutes using a hand mixer.
  5. Your DIY essential oil shaving cream is ready!

Do you use shaving soap, coconut oil (like me most of the time), shaving gel, shaving cream or just plain old warm water? What works best for you?
