DIY Essential Oil Muscle Rub

January 3, 2017 By Aspen Leave a Comment

Working out, lifting heavy stuff, running and even daily life activities can make muscles sore and achy. Fortunately, there’s a very easy peasy recipe for DIY essential oil muscle rub. I’m sharing it here!

diy essential oil muscle rub recipe

Give your tired muscles a soothing massage with this DIY essential oil muscle rub. It only uses 5 ingredients and is very simple to whip up.

The essential oils we shall be using in this DIY essential oil muscle rub are peppermint, frankincense, lavender and copaiba. All of these have analgesic properties which means they have a pain-relieving effect. They also give a tingling sensation which feels good on sore muscles. Their numbing effect takes away the ache from muscles and makes you sleep better with their soothing properties.

We will also be using coconut oil as the base ingredient. It’s better if your coconut oil is soft but if it isn’t don’t worry, it will always melt once you get it from the jar. However, if you live in a cold region where your coconut oil gets rock hard, then invest in Shea butter Nilotica to use in place of coconut oil. It stays creamy even in the cold temperatures.

You can use this muscle rub every day. Make sure to store it in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight. Use only clean fingers to dip into it to prevent growth of bacteria.
