Why Use Essential Oils?
Essential oils are liquid extracts made from plants. They are obtained by crushing or steaming plant material using special machinery to release their aroma compounds which collect to form a highly concentrated oil. What makes essential oils so good to be used in this cuticle cream?
They are moisturizing. Certain essential oils are highly moisturizing and attract moisture to skin cells. These plump up dry and dehydrated skin cells, making them look hydrated and healthy. These essential oils include lavender, geranium, jasmine, rose and myrrh, among others.
They are healing. Essential oils are well known for their therapeutic healing properties. These properties are useful in treating cuticle wounds which ae common in many people. They happen when dry cuticles peel off and you pluck them, causing it to bleed and form a wound. Essential oils have wound healing properties that speed up the rate at which healing takes place.
They help regenerate skin cells. Inelastic and dehydrated skin is prone to peeling and flaking. Essential oils help regenerate skin cells and repair them, helping promote skin elasticity and moisturization.
They are antiseptic. Some cuticle wounds can become infected with pus especially when they are many and open to germs. Essential oils have powerful antiseptic properties that fight off germs and keep the wound disinfected.
