DIY Essential Oil Headache Blend
This is my personal favorite headache blend and I keep it ready in an empty glass bottle (I use a recycled essential oil bottle) to use in so many different ways.
You may have come across many popular recipes where the essential oil headache blend is put into a roller bottle. But in this recipe we will be making the blend in bulk (5ml), similar in size to a small essential oil bottle. It can be especially useful for tackling frequent headaches. Besides, this way of making a blend can come in handy for different purposes such as:
- In a healing bath (mix 15 – 20 drops in 1 cup of Epsom salts and disperse in a warm bath)
- In a roller bottle (add 30 drops of the blend and top with a carrier oil like fractionated coconut oil)
- Direct inhalation (add 7 drops of the blend to an aromatherapy inhaler)
- Massaging your temples and forehead (mix 5 drops of the blend in a teaspoon of carrier oil)
What you’ll need:
- 30 ml empty essential oil bottle
- A glass bowl for mixing
- A sterile syringe
- 1 teaspoon of peppermint oil
- 1 teaspoon of eucalyptus oil
- 1 teaspoon of sandalwood oil
- 1 teaspoon of lavender oil
- 1 teaspoon of rosemary oil
Directions:
- In a glass bowl, measure out and pour all the required quantities of essential oil. Close the bottle.
- Now mix together all ingredients by shaking the bottle gently.
- Transfer this mix into an empty (a recycled essential oil bottle works just fine!) using a sterile syringe.
- Screw on the cap securely and keep in a cool dark place for 5 days to allow all the oils to synergize together.
- Now the blend is ready for use, in any of the recommended ways of using, as mentioned earlier.
