Benefits of Essential Oils for Hair Growth
What makes essential oils so good for hair growth? It’s their chemical makeup and therapeutic properties. Here are a few benefits of essential oils for hair growth:
Antioxidants. Essential oils contain a high level of antioxidants that protect the hair follicles and strands from free radicals. Free radicals cause premature aging of hair and hair loss.
Stimulate blood circulation. Essential oils are known to promote proper blood circulation to the scalp. This ensures each and every hair follicle receives nutrient-rich blood to foster strong healthy hair strands.
Invigorate hair follicles. When applied to the scalp, essential oils give a pleasant invigorating sensation. This sensation awakens hair follicles stuck in the telogen or dormant hair growth phase to function normally again.
Fights dandruff. Dandruff and itchy scalp issues are one of the most common causes of hair fall. Essential oils have anti-fungal properties that fight off the common dandruff-causing yeast Malasezzia.
Soothes scalp inflammation. Scalp inflammation affects many people but it’s not easy to see with the bare eye. It’s characterized by painful itchy irritated scalp and thinning hair. Essential oils have anti-inflammatory and soothing properties that reduce scalp inflammation.
